Amy Moran, Ph.D.

Amy Moran, Ph.D. is a marine biologist, educator, and polar scientist who studies the responses of marine organisms to changing environments. She has led multiple science diving expeditions to Antarctica and other parts of the world and has logged over 350 Antarctic dives. Amy was the first woman to serve as president of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences, the premier standard-setting organization for science diving in the USA. She has also served on the science diving advisory boards for the United States Antarctic Program and the University of Hawai’i. Her academic career includes faculty positions at Clemson University, the University of Hawai’i, and the University of Oregon, where she earned her Ph.D. in Biology.
