If you receive a scholarship, the funds will be disbursed in March 2024.
> One exception: the Laurel Clark Sea to Space Human Physiology Research Grant will be disbursed in two $2500 installments—the first in March 2024 and the second upon receipt of an interim report.
> If you live in the United States, you will be sent a check in US dollars. You will need to upload a W-9 form to the application website at the time of your award. Details will be provided upon notification of award.
> If you do not live in the United States, funds will be transferred to your bank account. You will be required to provide banking details so we can transfer the funds, and you will need to upload a W-8BEN tax form to the application website at the time of your award. Details will be provided upon notification of award.
> You are required to use your award within 18 months, i.e., by August 31, 2025.
> You are required to submit a report and a detailed financial account of how you spent the funds you requested by August 31, 2025. If you do not submit a report, you will be required to return the funds to WDHOF.
> If you do not use your award, you will be required to return the funds to WDHOF.
If you receive a training grant, you will not get the funds until you submit an invoice.
> If you are being trained in the United States, WDHOF will pay the dive training facility upon receipt of invoice--for both your training and your dive gear. WDHOF WILL NOT REIMBURSE YOU.
> If you are taking your training outside of the United States, WDHOF will transfer funds to your bank account for the training and gear, upon receipt of a copy of the invoice for dive training and equipment. You will be required to provide banking details so we can transfer the funds. Once you have paid for the training and equipment, you are required to upload copies of the receipts to document what you have paid. Details for uploading the banking information, invoices, and receipts will be provided upon notice of award.
> No funds will be disbursed until we receive a W-9 tax form (if you live in the U.S. or have a U.S. Social Security number) or a W-8BEN tax form (if you do not live in the U.S. or have a U.S. Social Security number).
