Carina is an interdisciplinary marine scientist and diver currently working for NOAA Fisheries as a West Coast Ocean Alliance Fellow. She has a Master’s in Coastal and Marine Resource Management, and her thesis research investigated social and ecological changes in a coral reef ecosystem at a national park in Mexico. Carina is an AAUS Scientific Diver and a PADI Rescue, Drysuit, and Enriched Air Diver. Her past professional diving experience includes working as a scientific diver at an environmental science consulting company. Carina plans to pursue Divemaster training to support citizen science and underwater education through dive leadership.
