Demi is a Master’s student in Marine Biology at Texas A&M University-Galveston, where she studies cryptic biodiversity and host-microbe interactions in coral reef ecosystems. Her field experience includes biodiversity surveys at sea, laboratory research on urchins, and collaborations with the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Passionate about bridging marine science with policy and conservation, she strives to make research accessible to broader audiences. This grant will support her AAUS Scientific Diver training, enhancing her ability to conduct fieldwork and contribute to
marine conservation initiatives through research and outreach.
