Elisabeth is an ocean enthusiast with a BSc in Biology from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. At UGM, she earned her open ocean certification, and later she won a prize from PADI Women’s Day to level-up her dive skills as Divemaster. She dedicated her work for community empowerment, environmental education, and nature conservation in coastal and small island areas using socio-ecological framework, mostly in the eastern part of Indonesia. With the training and equipment supported by this grant, Elisabeth is thrilled to expand and refine her underwater research techniques focusing on coral reefs and marine megafauna monitoring. She aspires to use scientific dive competency to provide high-quality databases from the ground which are critical in influencing policy and support marine and coastal management practices. She wishes to see the beauty of colorful coral reefs and reef fishes for the rest of her life.
