Juliette is a French Ph.D. student conducting her research at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA). Her dedication to conservation grew through volunteering with marine conservation NGOs, which convinced her to pursue a career at the interface of science, management and policies. Juliette was offered the opportunity to join a pioneering research project to advance the conservation of deep reefs in the Mediterranean, a highly diverse but understudied and underprotected marine ecosystem. This fellowship will allow her to cover expenses for Juliette to join this research expedition and contribute her expertise on the assessment of deep-reef fish communities, with the goal of improving their protection status.
