Katie is a biology professor, a NAUI dive instructor, and a co-founder of the Chicago Undersea Explorers Society (a non-profit group working to make diving more accessible and inclusive). She researches fish and teaches marine biology, utilizing snorkel and scuba during fieldwork. As a scientist, Katie is always asking questions and encouraging curiosity in those around her. Her teaching style emphasizes lifelong learning and meeting each student where they are -educators and instructors are always learning and growing, too!
