
Maria is a Brazilian marine biologist and Master’s student in Marine Ecology. Her research focuses on the ecology and behavior of Atlantic octopus populations across oceanic islands in Brazil and the Caribbean. She combines scientific diving, conservation fieldwork, and science communication. Maria is actively involved in invasive species management, biodiversity monitoring, and outreach initiatives. Her goal is to become a scientific diving instructor, expanding affordable training opportunities for young scientists and inspiring more inclusive participation in marine research and ocean conservation.
