Marian is a veterinary medicine thesis student at the Universidad Nacional (UNA) in Costa Rica. During her advanced years of study, she became actively involved in wildlife and conservation research projects, strengthening her interest in this field. Over time, she developed a strong interest in Marine Conservation Medicine, an under explored area of veterinary science in her country, and is currently beginning her involvement in marine species research. Through this award, she aims to expand her experience working with rays and contribute to the advancement of marine wildlife conservation in Costa Rica.
