Mariana is an underwater archaeologist at the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico. With a M.S. in Education, she is interested in relating the Mexican communities with their cultural heritage. Currently, as the head of the Archaeological Inventory of Shipwrecks from the 19th and 20th centuries in the Mexican Pacific Project, she has worked with the Mexican Navy to study and protect the Underwater Heritage on the Mexican Pacific Coast. She has collaborated in Turkey and Jamaica Underwater Archaeology Projects. This grant will represent the opportunity to increase her diving abilities and continue pursuing her professional goals.
