Marine Conservation Graduate Scholarship, Sponsored by WDHOF Member Meg Donat

Natasha Hynes

Natasha is an M.Sc. student at Canada’s University of New Brunswick Saint John Campus and has a B.Sc. in Marine Biology from Dalhousie University. Her Master’s project will focus on testing and optimizing a glider-mounted shadowgraph camera system for sampling zooplankton. The study of zooplankton quality and distribution has important conservation implications for their predators, as changes in the prey field can drive changes in the populations of their predators. Her project aims to provide the foundation for the use of the shadowgraph camera on underwater gliders operating in Eastern Canada.
