Sarani completed her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media from the University of Colombo (Sri Lanka) and is currently studying for a Bachelor of Law degree at University of London. Sarani holds a PADI Advanced Open-Water Diver certification. She volunteers and coordinates a project for Earth Lanka Youth Network, is a hub leader of Sustainable Ocean Alliance Sri Lanka, and is the Sri Lankan Ambassador of Young Environmentalists Programme - India. With a previous WDHOF award, she implemented her first coral in situ conservation project in Batticaloa district, Sri Lanka. She is an entrepreneur and is currently looking forward to producing textile materials and products from recycled ocean plastic.
