Sarani is an entrepreneur, volunteer, and diver dedicated to environmental and community development. A Mass Media graduate from the University of Colombo and current LLB student at the University of London, she serves as Project Coordinator for Earth Lanka Youth Network and Hub Leader for Sustainable Ocean Alliance Sri Lanka. A PADI Advanced Diver and aspiring Rescue Diver, Sarani has led reef and beach cleanups, awareness workshops, and coral conservation initiatives in Batticaloa. As a Women Divers Hall of Fame associate and grantee (2022 & 2024), she advocates for ocean conservation and sustainability through workshops and public engagements. Her achievements include speaking at COP 15 and COP 28, as well as the British Council’s IYCC 2023. A delegate for the 90 Youth Voices Programme (UK, 2024), Sarani has also facilitated training on youth leadership, peace, women’s empowerment, and marine conservation.
