Sophia is a marine biologist and aspiring underwater photographer, graduating in March 2025 with a B.S. in Aquatic Biology from UC Santa Barbara, and aiming to attend graduate school in the future. She currently works as a researcher in the Hofmann Laboratory and social media intern at the Research, Experience, and Education Facility (REEF) to pair her love of science, diving, and art. As an AAUS diver, the WDHOF photography training grant will help her raise her photography and film skills to the next level to communicate her research and wonders of the ocean to the public.
