Sydney is a researcher, artist, diver, and ocean advocate on a lifelong mission to save our seas through a combination of art, science, and outreach. While working on her Ph.D. in Australia studying coral reefs, she also runs an online sustainable ocean art/apparel business inspired by her underwater adventures/photography, donating 100% of profits and raising public awareness for ocean nonprofits. Her unique position as a scientist and artist with an entrepreneur/marketing/fundraising skillset in an evergrowing online world presents a rare power to capture people’s hearts around the globe and make the maximum impact possible in marine conservation. Her long-term goal is to create a remote field station in the Caribbean where she can train the next generation of scientists in underwater research techniques and lab skills, involve the local community in conservation, and invite visiting scientists to conduct their research in a state-of-the-art research facility.
