Violeta is a marine biologist and coral reef researcher at the Reef Systems Laboratory(UABCS), Mexico. She studies coral ecosystems in the Gulf of California to promote their protection and conservation. With the grant, she will improve her diving skills, enabling her to safely lead a team of young coral reef researchers into deep coral ecosystems.
