Lucia is a Postdoctoral Associate in marine ecophysiology at the Water Research Center of New York University Abu Dhabi. She holds a Ph.D. in Marine Biology and Ecology from the Universitá Politecnica delle Marche (Italy). Her research focuses on coral reef physiology, particularly how nutrient enrichment and dissolved oxygen reduction affect the physiology and ecology of hard coral species. With the support of the WDHOF grant, Dr. Gastoldi aims to enhance her expertise in scientific diving techniques to become more independent in fieldwork, especially in monitoring and assessing coral reef health.
