Melanie has been passionate about archaeology and the ocean for as long as she can remember. In 2017, she made the decision to return to university to study archaeology and was thrilled to discover that her two passions could be combined in a professional capacity! Melanie is now studying a Master of Maritime Archaeology degree at Flinders University, South Australia, and is particularly interested in submerged landscapes, ancient iconography, and watercraft conservation and reconstruction. She intends to use her diving qualifications to support extensive maritime archaeological research, learning about our past in the hope of positively shaping our future.
