Sumedha Korgaonkar received her Master’s in Zoology, Oceanography and Zoology Endocrinology from Mumbai University and cleared the National Eligibility Test. Being a college professor of a post-graduate course in Biodiversity, she got involved in marine research projects. Having an inclination towards marine wildlife biology, she left her job to pursue her Ph.D. as an external scholar from the prestigious Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun. She has been awarded several international and national sea turtle grants for her research on olive ridley sea turtle behaviour and conservation. She wants to broaden her field with in-water marine research.
