Yuen is a recent Amherst College graduate working at Biscayne National Park as a Scientists-in-Parks intern, where she dives frequently to restore the park’s coral reefs. She began pursuing marine biology after getting scuba certified her first year as an undergraduate and has since become a scientific diver. Along with her aspirations to research and protect corals, Yuen is intent on advancing her diving career to assist others with underwater research. She will obtain a Divemaster certification with the training grant to open avenues for becoming a diving safety officer.
