Applicants MUST be enrolled in a college, university, or military academy and must be in an ROTC program.

The basic dive training grant is US$1200.

The advanced dive training grant is US$1500.

Funds must first be applied to pay for the entire cost of the training. The entire award ($1200 or $1500) can be used for training.

Funds may be requested to rent or purchase basic dive equipment (e.g., mask, fins, snorkel, booties, hood, regulator, BCD) but only if the total cost of the dive training has been included in the request, AND the cost of dive equipment is not greater than US$500 for the basic dive training grant or US$750 for the advanced dive training grant. Cameras may not be purchased with the grant funds.

Dive training must culminate in a certification from an internationally recognized diver-training agency.
