Underwater Photography (1 grant, women only)

Jim Leffard was a life-long, world-wide diver who loved and lived for our oceans and its many splendors—micro and macro—as an accomplished underwater photographer, certified scuba instructor, instructor trainer, and sailor. Jim was instrumental in the creation of Beneath the Sea's Marine Careers program, and in the refocusing and expansion of the Sea of Tomorrow's Scholarship/Grant program. Jim's photography has played an important part in illustrating the effectiveness of these programs at Beneath the Sea. Additionally, his varied interests included being a pilot, a flight instructor, and an avid model railroad enthusiast. This training grant is offered to a woman who would like to learn about our incredible ocean environment through scuba diving and underwater photography.
