The Women Divers Hall of Fame ™ (WDHOF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and raising awareness of the contributions of outstanding women divers. WDHOF provides educational, mentorship, financial, and career opportunities to the diving community throughout the world. Each year, WDHOF awards scholarships and training grants that provide financial and educational support to individuals of all ages.

Forty-eight scholarships and training grants are offered this year. For some of the categories, more than one scholarship/grant is being offered.   A summary of the scholarship/grant categories and award amounts is listed below. Scholarships

Cecelia Connelly Memorial Scholarships in Underwater Archaeology

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

Two scholarships (graduate: $2,000; undergraduate: $750) for courses of study leading to a career in the field of underwater archaeology. For women only.

J. Berman Memorial Grant for Sea Turtle Conservation

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

One $2,000 grant for a qualified woman of any age to advance the conservation of sea turtles.

Bonnie Cardone Memorial Scholarship in Journalism, Graphic Arts, Photography, or Videography

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

One $1,500 scholarship for a woman diver who is enrolled in a degree-granting undergraduate or graduate program in the U.S. or Canada in the field of journalism, graphic arts, photography

Laurel Clark Sea to Space Physiology Research Grant

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

Two $5,000 grants to support graduate research in extreme environment physiology (diving, altitude, and/or space). For women or men with current or pending enrollment in a degree-granting graduate program.

Susan L. Williams Memorial Fellowships in Coral and Seagrass Rehabilitation

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

Four fellowships ($2,500 each) to support marine fieldwork and data collection in conjunction with marine habitat rehabilitation projects. For women only.

Marine Conservation Graduate Scholarship

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

Six scholarships ($2,000 each) awarded to qualified individuals who are enrolled in an accredited graduate academic or research program in the field of marine conservation. Five are for women only; one is for women or men.

Marine Conservation Undergraduate Scholarship

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

Two scholarships ($1,500 & $1,000) for qualified women of any age who are enrolled in accredited undergraduate academic or research programs in the field of marine conservation.

Undergraduate Marine Research Internship

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

One $1,000 Internship program with a focus in marine biology. For women or men, must be a still-matriculated undergraduate student.

Training Grants

Basic Dive Training Grants (learn to dive)

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

Up to ten basic dive training grants (8 are for women only; 2 are for women or men) to provide funding to learn to dive, culminating in a certification from a nationally recognized diver-training agency.

Advanced Dive Training Grants: for Certified Divers

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

Up to 11 advanced dive training grants -- 9 for women only, 2 for women or men -- divers of any age (unless specified) and background who wish to further their dive education through approved scuba diving programs beyond the basic certification level.

Specialty Training Grants

Hugh Fletcher Memorial Dive Training Grant Disabled Diver Instruction

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

One $1,000 grant for a disabled person (female or male) or for a Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, or Instructor (female or male) to gain the required education/training to assist or teach the disabled to dive

Amelia Behrens-Furniss Memorial Hardhat Dive Training Grant

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

One $1,000 grant to a female diver of any age and background who wishes to begin or further her training in hardhat diving through an approved hardhat dive training program.

Instructor Advanced Education Training Grant

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

One $2,000 grant to encourage instructors to expand their underwater-related skills by taking additional training leading to certification. For women only.

Diver Medical Education Grant - USA or Canada

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

Three training grants (valued at $500) for qualified women or men. For Diver Medical Training including full Diver Medical Theory and Practical Training - USA or Canada

Diver Medical Education Grant - UK and Europe areas

Applications are currently closed. 2023 applications will open on Sept. 1, 2022.

Two training grants (valued at £1000 each) for Diver Medical Training - UK and Europe areas - qualified women or men.
